There is a unique geometry to the close of a year, one that bends time not in a straight line, but in ripples, reflections, and recursions. In the Hôtel de la Marine, Arnaud Lapierre’s RÉSONANCE installation renders this phenomenon tactile: a topography of mirrored and golden convex surfaces that fragment, distort, and refract the architecture around them. Here, ornament becomes portal. The ephemeral becomes monumental.

At its core: a long-sleeved, gold sequin gown that skims the body like liquid architecture. Its high collar and sculpted proportions feel at once ceremonial and modern, an homage to past opulence, reinterpreted through a prism of contemporary restraint. The surface of the dress interacts with light the way Lapierre’s installation does: multiplying, fragmenting, never static. It’s not sparkle for spectacle, but shimmer as structural language.

The outerwear option introduces interpretive tension. A long, double-breasted coat in ivory, offers an architectural counterweight, severe in silhouette, yet tactile in its plushness. It’s a piece that suggests permanence, dignity, and a kind of controlled volume.A translucent bag embedded with champagne-toned crystals echoes the installation’s modular repetition, a study in surface, light, and negative space.

A pavé-set ring catches glints of ambient reflection, while sharply heeled black pumps ground the look with sculptural precision. The accessories are punctuation, deliberate inflections in a visual sentence about presence and poise.

This ensemble, placed within Lapierre’s mirrored landscape, becomes more than fashion. It becomes spatial dialogue. A choreography of reflection and selfhood. A gesture toward ceremony that resists theatricality. To dress for the end of the year is not to decorate oneself in excess, but to articulate one’s position in the reflective space between memory and momentum. Here, gold is not indulgence, it’s echo. And light, as always, is both medium and message.
